DEMOGRAPHY

The 2000 Census of Population reveals that Daet has a population of 80,632 which is the second largest in the province of Camarines Norte. The Annual average growth rate is 1.76 percent.

As of 2005 its projected population is 87,982 and is estimated to increase by 91,106 in year 2007 (Table 1). In year 2000, the total number of household in Daet is 16, 267. Its average household size is 4.96 the smallest in the Province of Camarines Norte. The male population is 40,030 while the female is 40,602. Female population is slightly bigger than male population.

In terms of age dependency, Daet can be grouped into three: 1) Child and Youth belonging to age group 0-14, 2) the Productive Population or the working group belonging to age bracket 15-64 years old, and 3) dependent population, persons who are below 15 years of age and above 64 years old. Daet has a total dependency ratio of 73.48% in year 2000.
