RESORT DEVELOPMENT

Daet is where the renowned Bagasbas Beach is located. The beach area is a prospective site for high end resort development projects with a shore line ( at least 20 kilometers) extending to nearby municipalities. Within its vicinity is an operational airport often serve by Sea Air and some chartered planes. Bagasbas is the birth place of Philippine surfing and is positioned to become the preferred destination for other aqua sports like kite boarding and wave boarding and is ideal for beach events like dodge balls, volleyball and others. Recently, efforts has been made to make the beach one of the safest and cleanest beaches in the country with the construction of a lifeguard tower and the creation of the Bagasbas Beach Development Council.

With telecommunication system that is provided by big players in the field like Digitel, Globe, Bayantel, Smart and PLDT, Daet is likewise positioned to be a preferred destination for non-voice call centers as it offers competitive value in terms of location, facility, manpower and overall environment for IT workers and management. Initial talks for the impending entry of Software Ventures Inc., (SVI) to Daet has been made and manpower pooling has been started.

AGRICULTURE

Daet is known for the Queen Pineapple. Being at the center of other large town-producing pineapple, Daet is a viable location for medium to large scale pineapple processing. Initial capacity of pineapple production is 16 tons per harvest.

RETAIL AND FRANCHISES

With the upcoming boom in services and retail, Daet is becoming popular for franchises and expansion particularly of products and services with national and regional origin. The entry of Graceland, Greenwich and Chowking proves that Daet is a good place for food business of which Shakey’s and Jolibee enjoyed for some time.

The entry of banks like BDO and Bank of the Philippine Island is an indicator of the growing financial transaction in Daet being the service center of the province. To date, at least 14 BSP accredited bank operate in this town making it business friendly to outside investors.

OTHER TOURISM INVESTMENTS

The introduction of new events made Daet a popular destination for domestic and foreign tourists; comes February 2009, the first Kite Boarding Competition will be held in Bagasbas which will place Daet in the map of the fast growing tourism oriented sea sports in the world. Jet Ski and other related business is seen loom in the area soon.
